Think Pink Crop for the Cure

Crop to save lives

Crafty Neighbor is going pink!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks again to everyone for your continued support of our Pams' Pals and Think Pink for the Cure events! We have been hosting Pam's Pals and Think Pink events since 2008, and we've raised thousands of dollars for the cause, but we can't let it stop there! As many of you know, in 2016, I too, was diagnosed with breast cancer. This wasn't very surprising, because 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. So you can imagine how much more important to me this cause is now.

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Susan G. Komen 3-Day was cancelled, and all fundraising was diverted to the 2021 3-Day walk. The Walkers, Texas Rangers team is currently on hiatus while we deal with family issues, but we will walk again some day. In the mean time, it is becoming even harder than ever to raise the funds we need to participate, so having the extra time to fundraise means more money for our cause, and maybe even another fundraiser crop somewhere down the line. We have also considered starting a team for the annual Race for the Cure in Plano or Dallas, which is a 5k run/walk. We are looking forward to this new chapter in our fundraising and awareness campaigns, and we hope some of you will consider joining us for either the walk or the race (or both!).

What is Think Pink Crop for a Cure?

Think Pink Crop for a Cure is an all-day scrapbooking and crafting event supporting the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk teams and other area breast cancer charities. Funds raised on behalf of Susan G. Komen are used to fund more research, to provide mammograms and other diagnostic services, as well as bring awareness to the cause and to assist those currently receiving treatment for breast cancer.

How did it start?

We started as a group of friends getting together to help our good friend and fellow scrapbooker, Pam, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.  Crafty Neighbor wanted to help, so we organized our first ever Pam's Pals Benefit Crop to raise money to pay some of her medical bills.  The event was a huge success and helped to raise several thousand dollars to help pay Pam's medical bills.  We repeated the event again in 2009.

In 2011 and 2012, we teamed up to walk in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in honor of Pam. We walked 60 miles over the course of 3 days to help put an end to breast cancer forever. Pam is doing much better now, but the cause is so important to us that we dediced to keep going. Starting in 2013, we renamed our annual Pam's Pals event to be called the Think Pink Crop for the Cure, and we donate the proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or whichever walker or team needs our funding.

We are passionate about PINK!

In 2016, Cindy Murray, the founder of Crafty Neighbor, was also diagnosed with breast cancer, so we will not give up until we just can't fight any more. We continue to be involved with the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, either as walkers, crew, volunteers, or support for other teams. We also continue to host our Think Pink for the Cure events so long as participants keep coming to them and we have enough volunteers to make it happen. As always, the proceeds from every event will help support our 3-Day walk teams and Race for the Cure participants.  If you would like more information about our walk teams or Think Pink Crop for the Cure, please send us an email at:

What's Next?

Every 74 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies of breast cancer. It affects mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, friends, fathers, brothers, sons and uncles, too. In fact, 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. But with the help of people who support events like Think Pink for the Cure and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, we may one day be able to say that NO ONE dies of breast cancer and that no one has to ever again hear those devastating 4 little words, "You have breast cancer." Please help us eradicate this deadly and debilitating disease by continuing to support Think Pink Crop for the Cure, Walkers, Texas Rangers, and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day.
